Many acts fit in with the theory created by Adorno and Horheimer, namely boy bands such as JLS and One Direction.Essentially acts that fit the theory often come from talent shows such as Britains Got Talent and the X Factor, bands fitting the theory tend to have a short life span because as soon as they have lessened the amount of money that they are making they are no longer useful to the record company they are just their as a money making tool for record companies to exploit.

Acts that don't fit the theory written by Adorno and Horkheimer as even if they don't fit at the start
they are moulded to by the records companies as it makes them easier to sell to the public. However certain asks such as Adele, although within similar categories to act that do fit it she goes against the grain. Alot of Adorno and Horkheimer's theory revolves around image and they have to be an image deemed acceptable by record companies, however Adele really doesn't fit the image part of the theory. She still is however one of the biggest selling artists of the generation, so this goes to show that not necessarily do you have to fit exactly into the theory ti be hugely successful. Also very few acts outside of the pop music genre, are "mass produced" so bands outside that genre don't tend to fit the theory and example of a genre is rock music where their image tends to be what they want.
